Entre la city y el rio, el nuevo barrio mantiene
el paisaje de diques y viejos depósitos con muros de ladrillo
visto y estructuras de hierro....es la propuesta urbanística
más importante por su magnitud de la Historia de la ciudad de
Buenos Aires, valiéndole la denominación de “Ciudad del S.XXI”
Históricamente se presentaron dos proyectos
para su construcción; E. Madero, su autor, propuso una estructura
cerrada con diques y dársenas; el proyecto concluido en 1890
de origen comercial, cerró a los porteños al paisaje ribereño,
junto a los diques una serie de galpones instalados a intervalos
regulares cortan la perspectiva desde cualquier calle de la
ciudad convirtiéndose en su telón de fondo.......
En 1989 el Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos
Aires propuso la reconversión de ese lugar, cuyos objetivos
fueron establecer una nueva relación de la ciudad con el río
a través de su puerto, convertir definitivamente la costanera
sur en un espacio verde recreativo, nuevo centro comercial,
social y cultural de la ciudad.
Hoy es un enorme potencial turístico, existen
innumerables proyectos que apuntan a una profunda síntesis transformadora,
y sobre todo, respetuosa del medio ambiente.
Nuestra intervención es simplemente la respuesta
a un sector de esta “nueva” parte de la ciudad, que desde comienzos
de siglo permaneció aislada del resto de la trama, acompañando
la recomposición espontánea del sistema biótico con un profundo
respeto por la identidad y por la geografía.

Between
the city and the river, the new neighborhood maintains the lansdscape
of the docks and old deposits with walls of bricks and metal
structures.......this is the most important urban proposition
because of the mighty history of the city, giving it the name
of “City of the S.XXI”
Historicicly, appeared two projects for its
construccion: E. Madero, it´s author, proposed a closed structure
with docks and a post; the project finished IN 1890 of commercial
origen, closed to the people of Buenos Aires. The lanscape,
next to the docks a series of storehouse installed in regular
intervals. Cut the perspective from any street in the
city converting it in the closing of the city.
In 1989 the government of the city of Bs.
As. proposed the restructuring of that place, which goals where
to establish a new relation of the city whit the river throught
it´s port, to convert defenitly the coastal south in a green
area for recreation, new mall, social and culture of the city.
Today it´s a large tourist area, exists large
numbers of projects that point out a deep synthesis and above
all, respecting the enviroment.
Our intervention is simply an answer to this
“new” port of the city, that since the begining of the century
was isolated from the rest of the way, accompaning the spontaneaus
mending of the natural system with deep respects for the identity
and for the geography.
